SHINE Project Officially Launched

First International Meeting in Warsaw

We are delighted to announce that the SHINE project has officially started, and on 5 January in
Warsaw the first international project meeting took place, marking the beginning of close
cooperation between partners from Poland, Lithuania and Turkey.
The meeting was an important moment to launch joint work, build relationships and align key directions for the
months ahead.

During the meeting, partners discussed the project’s objectives, roles and responsibilities, as well as the
substantive framework for developing modern and accessible educational tools.

About the SHINE Project

SHINE is an international project implemented under the Erasmus+ Programme, aiming to develop safe,
accessible and innovative educational tools in the field of sexual education and health for young
people with intellectual disabilities.

The project responds to a real educational gap – the lack of adapted materials that address topics such as the
body, personal boundaries, relationships and safety
in a clear, respectful and supportive way.

What We Will Develop

  • Interactive Game-Based Learning tools
  • Educational materials for young people with intellectual disabilities
  • Practical guides for families and professionals working with youth

Why It Matters

SHINE strengthens the competences of educators, teachers and caregivers, while empowering young people to build
self-awareness, understand their rights and develop relationships based on respect and safety.

The project is implemented by an international partnership of organisations from Poland, Lithuania and Turkey,
combining expertise in special education, youth work and modern educational technologies. Together, the partners are
creating inclusive, practical solutions that can be applied in diverse cultural and educational contexts.

SHINE is a project about dignity, safety and equal access to knowledge
– an investment in the quality of life, autonomy and real support for young people with intellectual disabilities and
their communities.
