Consumo Justo timeline · Oslo, Norway · 14-15 October 2024
Consumo Justo is an Erasmus+ project about fair, ethical and local consumption. It gives youth workers the knowledge and the tools to talk about these topics with young people, and it ran for two years, from 1 September 2024 to 31 August 2026. Five organisations ran it together, and Mobile Adventure led the work on the project’s toolkit.
The partners had already met online in July and September 2024. On 14 and 15 October 2024 we sat around one table for the first time, at the office of Collective Innovation in Oslo. Each of the five organisations sent two people.

Five countries on one table
Before the meeting every partner had researched its own country: which laws deal with responsible consumption, which organisations work on it, and which tools youth workers can already use. We coordinated this research, so the first morning in Oslo was spent comparing the five answers.
The picture was similar everywhere and different in the details. All five countries have national rules on responsible consumption and public platforms with information for consumers. How far the topic has travelled into daily life is another matter, and it varies a lot from one country to the next. We also agreed on a working principle that stayed with the project: consumption has an environmental side, a social side and an economic side, and it covers food, energy, transport, clothing and much more.
What we decided
The second day turned the discussion into a calendar. These were the main decisions:
- We would write a summary of the national research, with the differences, the similarities and a list of useful resources.
- All partners would write shared definitions of local, ethical and fair consumption. These later became the project’s explanatory sheets.
- Each partner would prepare five activities for youth workers, 25 in total, on a common template designed by us.
- Young people in every country would record short videos about their own consumption habits.
- The questionnaire asking young people what they expect from the project’s mobile app would stay open. By the time of the meeting 49 had answered.
- The first seminar for youth workers would take place in Pamplona, Spain, from 22 to 24 May 2025.
We also chose the hashtag that has accompanied the project since then: #ConsumoJustoYouth.
Back home
Everyone left Oslo knowing which part of the toolkit was theirs and when it was due. We came home with three tasks: the research summary, the activity sheet template and five activities of our own. The partners kept working through regular video calls and met again in person in May 2025, at the first seminar in Pamplona.
The Consumo Justo app, with the posters, activities and resources described in these posts, is free on Google Play and the App Store.
