Summary:
“The Guardians of E-Tourism” is a project located in the municipality of Santa Lucia, on the island of Gran Canaria, one of the most important touristic island in the world. Our village is situated in a small rural area in the countryside. The main aim of this project is empowering young people from the countries involved in the protection of the cultural heritage in order to promote and improve the opportunities in the tourism field.
 
Other objectives are the following:
• Increasing the interest for the ETourism as a social, efficiency and responsible development.
• Approaching the importance of protecting the cultural heritage as a unique value in our countries as touristic destination we are.
• Putting together the points in common we have and work on them.
• Working deeply the balance between Tourism and Environment.
The number of countries involved will be Spain, Bulgaria and Poland. The profile of young people who participate is 17-25-year-old. This project will take place in a cultural, youth participation and social abilities context. Participants do not need a previous experience, because we will work on a basic level. We will use a non-formal participatory methodology with games, role plays, cultural visits and so on. 
During the seven days of the exchange, several activities will be carried out to raise awareness of young people from other regions and to take into account the importance of cultural heritage in Europe. It will be used as a link between young people from different countries. We will also work the understanding of the traditions which results in the protection of the culture of the countries that shape this great European Nation. In order to achieve this goal, we will manage workshops, visibility activities, cultural visits, etc.- Introduce and publicize the opportunities offered by the Erasmus + program to Canarian youth.
 
This project also aims to generate an impact on the local community and the Canary and European youth, making them active and active citizens more able to face the world of work and to the development and participation in new Erasmus + programs, infecting new young people and developing the rural milieu As a tool for youth dynamism, sustainable and active tourism and promotion of healthy living habits.
