Project Overview

Up-Res is an Erasmus+ funded project that focuses on promoting academic achievement and the inclusion of immigrant students through the development of resilience-building strategies. The project aims to equip educators with the tools and methods needed to measure and improve the resilience of students, particularly those from migrant and refugee backgrounds. By creating resilience-building exercises, an online training platform, and a comprehensive teacher’s guide, the project seeks to empower educators to establish a stronger emotional and psychological foundation for their students. The overall goal is to bridge the gap between educational success and resilience, enabling students to better cope with challenges and thrive academically in inclusive learning environments.

Project Objectives

  • Develop Resilience Measurement: Create an evidence-based methodology to assess the resilience of immigrant students.
  • Support Educators: Provide teachers with resources and strategies to build student resilience.
  • Create Resilience Exercises: Design practical exercises to enhance students’ emotional regulation and coping skills.
  • Develop an Online Platform: Build a platform with exercises, AI-supported videos, interactive tasks, and certification.
  • Raise Awareness: Increase awareness of the project’s goals among key stakeholders, including policymakers and educators.

Key Tools and Deliverables

Teachers Guide

The Teacher Guide for the Up-Res project is a resource aimed at helping educators build resilience in students, particularly those from immigrant backgrounds. It provides evidence based methodologies, strategies, and practical exercises to enhance students’ emotional and psychological resilience, supporting their academic and social success. This guide will be a valuable tool for teachers throughout the project and beyond.

  • Resilience-Building Strategies: Practical techniques to help students develop emotional regulation, coping skills, and self-efficacy.
  • Resilience Measurement Methodology: A framework using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) to measure and track resilience levels.
  • Step-by-Step Activity Guidance: Easy-to-follow instructions for implementing resilience-building activities in classrooms.
  • Evidence-Based Recommendations: Research based suggestions for improving resilience in immigrant and refugee students.
  • Data Collection and Analysis Tools: Resources to gather and assess qualitative and quantitative data on the effectiveness of resilience activities.

Online Training Platfrom

The Online Training Platform for the Up-Res project is a web-based tool designed to deliver project outputs and support resilience-building activities. It offers access to exercises, AI-powered videos, interactive tasks, and self-evaluation tools, allowing students to track their progress and engage in interactive learning.

  • Resilience-Building Modules: 7 modules covering key resilience topics like social competence, problem-solving, and coping styles, with interactive content.
  • AI-Powered Videos: Scenario-based, AI-supported videos in each module to engage students in realistic learning situations.
  • Self-Evaluation Tests: Tests at the end of each module to assess students’ understanding with a minimum of 5 questions.
  • Self-Reflection Section: A space for students to reflect on their thoughts and feelings.
  • Certification: A certificate issued upon completion of all modules, interactive tasks, and self-evaluations.
  • User Progress Dashboard: A dashboard for tracking progress, including completion rates and results from self-evaluations.
